PABLITO'S LA ESTRELLA
Read morePablito's la Estrella is undoubtedly the locals' favorite place to come for a drink with friends. This unassuming little bar-restaurant serves up hearty Belizean dishes: soups, fresh whole fish, lobster in season and lionfish when available. The place, with its tropical simplicity (concrete slab under a palm roof), is also home to an authentic well dating back to Mayan times. A great spot to drink a cold beer, meet locals and visitors alike and catch up on old times.
SPOONAZ
Read moreOpened in 2013, this establishment combines an indoor café and an outdoor bar/restaurant with an open kitchen and views of the old wooden boats that have anchored here. The menu features classic English breakfast-style dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Assorted bagels, muffins, samoussas, paninis and other sweet and savory delights. As for drinks, the coffee here is 100% Belizean, and can be enjoyed hot or iced, the latter a refreshing option. In short, we recommend this address without hesitation.
STONE GRILL RESTAURANT
Read moreThe large, bright, wooded room is a haven of fresh air for those who venture in during the day. It's hard to leave afterwards, especially after enjoying the international cuisine served here. Curiously, the speciality is stone-cooking: fish or meat dishes are brought to the table on hot cooking stones, and continue to be prepared in front of you. A well-stocked bar and the option of dining outside by the pool in the evening. A real treat.
