The Day of the Dead, celebrated in Mexico with joy, is registered as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.
The Day of the Dead is celebrated throughout Mexico. It is a very special event that differs from the Catholic Day of the Dead in that it is festive and the families of the deceased build private altars covered with offerings: familiar objects of the deceased, typical dishes and alcohol, cempasúchil (Indian rose) flowers with yellow and orange petals. The festivities usually begin on October 31 and last until November 2. The Day of the Dead is included in the intangible cultural heritage of humanity by Unesco.
