There are many sporting activities on offer in Andalusia, depending on whether you prefer the sea or the mountains. Budgets vary according to the services on offer, but you can learn to dive for around €60. All the companies listed in the guide are accredited. On the other hand, avoid flyers, which are sometimes synonymous with danger, as the people involved are not authorized.

What's very local

This is, of course, an opportunity to learn flamenco. Some schools offer one-week introductory courses, or provide an opportunity to enhance your flamenco skills. A visit to one of Andalusia's major cities - Seville, Granada, Cordoba or Malaga - will also give you the chance to learn about Arabic baths and hammams. Prices are relatively similar from one establishment to another. On the other hand, prices rise quickly if the bathing circuit includes massages. Be sure to specify the services you are entitled to when you pay for admission.

You can also enjoy all kinds of sports, whether at sea or in the mountains. The network of infrastructures, associations and clubs covers all eight provinces. The coastline is home to numerous sailing, flysurfing and diving schools. Cabo de Gata, Almería's wild cape, is a marvellous spot for scuba divers and spearfishermen, while Tarifa (province of Cadiz) attracts windsurfing fanatics who revel in the east and west winds. The Andalusian coast boasts 37 marinas offering a wide range of activities. In Huelva and Almería, you can sail offshore under the guidance of qualified instructors. As for rowing, the navigable stretch of the Guadalquivir offers good opportunities to test your muscles.

To be booked

To attend flamenco shows, you only need to book the same day, except for the weekend, for which it will be better to book as soon as you think about it. On the other hand, in times of ferias, or special events such as the Flamenco Biennial in Seville, it goes without saying that you will have to anticipate your registrations as you would have to do to book a hotel. Otherwise you might arrive and everything is already booked.

Tourist traps

Generally speaking, it's best to book directly with the establishments. No middleman will get you a special price. And there aren't many of them.
