To be booked

For plays and concerts, it's advisable to reserve your seat in advance. This will also enable you to obtain preferential rates most of the time.

Night transport

Don't rely too much on public transport after 7pm. However, the Saint-Gilles box network is partnered with a private transporter. Find out more in our pages.

Good to know. The Alternéo network has set up an on-demand night-time transport service, available on Fridays, Saturdays, the eve of public holidays and during the short school vacations: Noctambus (www.alterneo.re). These night buses are available on reservation, between 8pm and 4am, in the communes of Saint-Pierre, Saint-Louis, Petite-Île, L'Étang-Salé and Les Avirons. To book your trip, call 02 62 55 40 60 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 3:30pm), no earlier than eight working days in advance and no later than 24 hours before your trip.

Age restrictions

It's 18 years old and it's still non-negotiable! Some parties even raise the minimum age to 21 or 25.

Smokers

You will always have an open area for smokers. That's the advantage of being on a tropical island.
