Polynesia is not really "the place to be" when it comes to nightlife, on the contrary, we prefer its quietness and its gentle way of life. And make no mistake about it, even glamorous Bora Bora is not at all a "party" destination!
The only nightclubs in the territory are concentrated in Papeete; they open between 8 and 11 pm and close at 4 am. Elsewhere, you will have to make do with hotel bars or a few lounge addresses, the number of which remains very limited. Polynesian evenings are much more like long friendly exchanges with the owners and other guests of your pension, sometimes with a ukulele bonus.
The entrance to the nightclubs of Papeete is free, but a selection is made at the entrance. The price of drinks on the spot remains reasonable.
No need to make a reservation, in any establishment: above all, come as you are... and as you can!
Because yes, unfortunately, there is no night transportation at Fenua, you can only rely on a taxi.
As in mainland France, admission to nightclubs is reserved for the over 18s.
For a real plunge into the festive Polynesian atmosphere, the Zizou Bar in Papeete is by far the most indicated establishment!
The anti-smoking law of 11 February 2009 prohibits smoking in public places, including discos. However, some nightclubs are equipped with an area reserved for smokers.
