Taiwan is a real shopping paradise! Whether in the giant malls of the capital, or in the famous night markets, you can buy everything there. Some neighbourhoods specialize in the sale of electronic products, some in textiles and others in local specialties. In the province, the choice is a little less vast but it will be an opportunity to buy regional products such as Alishan tea.
As a result of China's proximity, it is not uncommon to find counterfeit goods in Taiwan, in night markets or in small provincial towns. The price and quality of the product are good indicators to be sure to buy an original. Beware of traditional Chinese medicine products, some of which are made from endangered animals and are therefore banned in the rest of the world.
