Considered the most beautiful canyon in Europe and a protected natural site since 1990, the Gorges du Verdon are truly one of the jewels of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Straddling the departments of Var and Alpes de Haute-Provence and only two hours from Marseille, the Gorges du Verdon offer a wide variety of landscapes, beyond their sublime canyon, thanks to several lakes such as those of Sainte-Croix, Esparron, Quinsson or Castillon, all close to hectares of vineyards but also lavender fields in the heart of Provence. In this magical natural setting, which is visited by thousands of tourists from all over the world every year, you will be able to practice many outdoor sports such as canoeing, climbing, hiking, mountain biking and even take a hot air balloon flight to enjoy an unforgettable panorama. The Gorges du Verdon is also a multitude of very typical Provencal villages such as Valensole, Riez, the picturesque Aiguines and Bauduen without forgetting Castellane and its rock or Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. To better discover the Gorges du Verdon, you can stay on site in one of the many campsites or even sleep in very typical gîtes or at the inhabitant's home in a bed and breakfast. It will also be the occasion to treat yourself to some good Provencal specialities, just to regain your strength after visiting the Gorges.
