Libraries Midi-Toulousain

Created by the city of Toulouse, Rosalis is a digital library that disseminates and promotes the old, rare and precious collections of its municipal library. The "Langue d'oc" collection includes poetry, plays, linguistic surveys, revolutionary writings, musical pieces and theological writings in Occitan. This collection contains several dozen manuscripts from the Middle Ages to the ^20th century.

To rediscover the richness of Toulouse's Occitan heritage, head to the Bibliothèque d'Etudes et du Patrimoine. Inaugurated in 1935 and also called "Périgord", it is very popular with students and researchers. With a surface area of 9,000 m², it is one of the largest in France and houses more than 35,000 books published since 1990 in all fields, including 5,000 documents since 1945 concerning Toulouse and the Midi-Pyrénées region.

This library depends on the University of Toulouse. It specializes in the history, languages and literature of the great South of France and Spain, from antiquity to the present day. It serves the entire university community, but is also open to the general public. It holds a very wide range of documentation on the history, languages and literature of southern France and Spain and has an Occitan collection.

Mazamet's media library is a local facility that plays an active role in the town's cultural life. It regularly offers free events, screenings and shows. Here, visitors can borrow books, games, CDs and DVDs, and take advantage of the multimedia tools available. They can also work in peace and quiet, or simply relax by leafing through the press.
