Have you just arrived from abroad and would like to improve your French? The Alliance française can help! We offer tuition (in small groups), accommodation with host families for greater immersion in the local language and way of life, and workshops or cultural outings. So you can practice in a lively, stimulating environment. What's more, a certificate is awarded at the end of your course, validating the language level acquired during your stay in Toulouse.

This association was created in 1945 with the aim of maintaining and developing the Occitan language and culture. Its members work to maintain the Occitan culture as a living and contemporary culture, creative and innovative, while assuming its history. Associated with other structures, the association offers Occitan courses for adults, but also a resource and research center as well as communication campaigns for the general public.

Every summer, the associations Lenga Viva and Escambiar organize the Université Occitane d'Eté de Laguépie. The week is then animated by conferences, workshops of language, dance or song, concerts around the Occitan language and culture. A place and time for teaching, animation and study, it is also a time of encounters where students have the opportunity to speak with local Occitan speakers, writers and artists of renown.

Founded in 1927 in Castelnaudary by Prosper Estieu and Joseph Salvat, the Collège d'Occitanie provides continuing education and distance learning of Occitan. Courses are offered for all levels: from initiation for beginners to literature and civilization courses for the more advanced. The training structure also offers conversation workshops, writing workshops as well as support for the baccalaureate or a competitive examination. The establishment was recognized as a public utility in 1969.

For the most part, you will find Occitan courses, workshops or conversation groups in the southwest of France, but you may also be lucky enough to find them in Toulon, Nice, Lyon, Clermont-Ferrand and even in Poitiers or Paris.

The Office Public de la Langue Occitane is a public organization dedicated to promoting the transmission and visibility of the Occitan language. It brings together the Occitanie Region, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and the French State. Since its creation in 2016, the OPLO has supported actions aimed at schools, high schools and associations. Whatever your age, OPLO can help or guide you in your learning of the Occitan language!
