Astronomy Midi-Toulousain

Sponsored by Hubert Reeves, this association offers initiation and training in astronomy, for all ages, curious and passionate. For the past 15 years, the goal is to make astronomy a worthy place for this name and accessible to all. For this, "A Ciel Open" offers trips and courses for all levels and all audiences, supervised by professional and passionate animators, from April to November. Two sites welcome participants: The Stars Farm and the Stars Hamlet. They both benefit from a pure sky free from light pollution. The Star Farm is a gascon farmhouse renovated in guest rooms. It has a full range of observation instruments. Recently, it has a new telescope of 620 mm. It offers different forms of stay and internships such as: Heavenly walk, one night to discover the beauties of the sky, Discovery of the sky as a family, a week to dive into the sky of family, Initiation to astronomy, a week to get into the astronomy. More recently, the Star Hamlet is the first holiday centre dedicated to astronomy. In addition to the traditional teaching tools and the numerous observation instruments, the Hamlet has a unique equipment: The Dome of Discovery of the Universe, equipped with the most sophisticated multimedia techniques. The Village Hamlet welcomes children and schools for stays and days of discovery and adults and families for evenings at the Dome and conferences. The "Soirées Nébuleuses" are a proposal in collaboration with the Astro Club du Hautacam, designed especially for astronomy enthusiasts with a slight sporting inclination. The event kicks off at around 5.15pm with a 1.5-hour snowshoe hike, suitable for all levels. A guide will be present, and all necessary equipment will be provided. Afterwards, a country-style dinner will be prepared before diving into an evening of deep-sky observation, highlighting nebulae and/or the Moon, depending on the period.

STELVISION is a valuable resource for astronomy beginners. Created in 2008 by Toulouse-based space engineer Bertrand d'Armagnac, the site offers practical advice on choosing equipment and finding your way around the night sky. The famous Stelvision 365 rotating celestial chart, designed by Bertrand, is a very useful tool. The site also offers simplified ephemerides and a telescope simulator to visualize celestial objects according to their diameter. STELVISION, with its online store offering publishing products and observation equipment, is a true reference for astronomy enthusiasts.

These evenings start at 8.30pm or 9pm, depending on the time of year, and take place whatever the weather conditions. Reservations can be made via the website. This observatory, near Le Mas-d'Azil, is dedicated to providing the widest possible introduction to astronomy. Guided by qualified guides, you can discover the stars and planets. Telescopes, telescopes and binoculars will take you light-years further. Introductory and advanced courses are available all year round. Micro rockets!

The Hameau of Stars is a "holiday village" located a few kilometers from Fleurance. It is the only one in Europe dedicated to astronomy! Its "Observation Dome of the Universe" is quite breathtaking, mixing interactive showroom and a sturdy roof to literally plunge into the starry arch! The 42 hectare site on which it is located is a pleasant and pleasant country with its large fishing lake. The accommodation is a family chalet, with a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and playground for children. This village is aimed especially at families who wish to spend a few days in conditions of calm near nature. Among the activities proposed, discovery of astronomy and manufacture of microrockets often interest children. Dome evenings are also available to non-resident residents of the village.
