From Friday to Monday, the Fêtes historiques de Mirepoix is a recreation of a rich history, a magnificent setting, breathtaking costumes and motivated volunteers who are the secret behind this festival. Come and discover the medieval atmosphere in the heart of the magnificent city of Mirepoix, with a historical parade, night-time sketches, a medieval craft market, giant wooden games and a presentation of games from yesteryear. The festival closes with a torch-lit parade and a mass in Occitan.

The holidays around 14 July are organized with the help of 450 volunteers and the active support of the 5 000 inhabitants. We see and hear Harley Davidson bikers, American cars, and many concerts. This festival, the first country music festival in Europe, welcomed 160 000 visitors in 2006. 73 concerts over 5 days, 2 000 dancers, over 16 hours of daily music: the hardest thing is to keep it!

In the Tarn et Garonne, here is a festival which has had a good reputation for 25 years! It is dedicated to Offenbach, in one of the most beautiful villages in France. It is a festival of opera and opéra-bouffe, in the natural setting of the castles, with professional singers. Recitals, aperitifs-concert, singing courses...Tables d'hôtes are set up at the end of the show and everyone can eat with the artists. It is a festival that we recommend.

At the height of summer, Beaumont-de-Lomagne celebrates white garlic in style! Numerous garlic producers gather to share their passion and know-how with gourmets. On the program: the sale of white garlic in all its forms, in bulk, in baskets, in braids..., and a host of events including competitions, culinary workshops for youngsters, exhibitions and sales of local and artisanal products, children's games and, of course, a gourmet meal! A popular festival not to be missed!

For more than 28 years, this festival entirely dedicated to drollets ("children" in Occitan) has been attracting young and old alike. During a weekend, the whole village of Simorre becomes a playground for the little ones. Circus, painting, pottery, music, board games, dance... with each workshop new discoveries. Just stroll through the streets and stop in front of the stands to discover a new activity. Of course, many street animations and shows will take place throughout the day!

The Centre d'art et de Photographie de Lectoure invites a number of contemporary artists to work together on a common theme. Videos, photos and works of art are exhibited in various locations around the town: Maison de la Photographie, the old courthouse, Halle aux Grains, Village des Brocanteurs, Jardin de la Cerisaie... You'll be given a map of the route and a list of exhibitors when you visit your first venue. While you're there, take the opportunity to visit the town.

It was at the foot of the town Angonia that, according to legend, a battle was fought where Christian and Saracens fought. Vidian, the leader of Christian troops lost his life as well as several of his companions. Every year since the middle of the th century, this episode is commemorated in a solemn ceremony where the Martrais dressed in colourful costumes make thanks to their Patron Saint and reconstruct the battle.

On this public holiday, the Nogaro arena traditionally hosts a major Landes race, in the form of the "Corne d'Or" competition. The best jumpers and spreaders show off their talents in front of seasoned cows, all under the watchful eye of sponsor Paul-Ricard (just to freshen up your breath...). The day's program includes bullfighting school demonstrations, a Gascon meal with traditional songs, and a tapas evening after the famous race!

Exceptional collection of masterpieces from the th to the th centuries (Picasso, Rodin, Monet…). With over 100 000 visitors, this exhibition is intended for all those, whether small or large, individually or as families, who wish to make a wonderful journey at the heart of European artistic currents.

Every year since 1992, the first weekend in August, from Thursday to Sunday, has been a joyous and convivial occasion to celebrate rural traditions, farm life and ancestral know-how, attracting several thousand people each year. A parade through the streets, a traditional dance, a craft market and a gourmet market. Everything is done to amaze the palates of even the most discerning gourmets. More than 700 volunteers take part with a large parade, tractors, cows and sheep, bringing to life the Couserans of yesteryear.

The birthplace of Déodat de Séverac (1872-1921), Saint-Felix-Lauragais hosts an annual festival in honour of this original and committed composer. Created in 1989 by the artist's grandson, it is now directed by the opera singer Jean-Jacques Cubaynes. Inheriting the spirit of Déodat de Séverac, the programme of concerts, courses, conferences and exhibitions is based on popular art to celebrate the richness of Occitan culture.

For the past thirty years, the Circa association has been promoting original creations around the circus arts. Each year, it organizes a festival of the current circus in the fall. The best circus troupes from France and the world perform under the big top. In addition to this festival, CIRCA welcomes circus artists in residence throughout the year. The centre provides a place for artists to rehearse, create and produce.

The creators and craftsmen are present in Martres for the love of earthenware. The craftsmen master earthenware, ceramics, porcelain, stoneware, and travel from France, the Netherlands, Spain or Algeria to present their achievements. Since 2021, a space is dedicated to young designers from the Occitania region. They are invited to compete for the "Young Designer Prize". Workshops and demonstrations are offered to the public. The show is a must for lovers of art and traditions!

While most of the exhibits are made in reconstitué marble (the originals at the Saint-Raymond Museum in Toulouse), the interest of the museum's ancient statuary collection remains remarkable. Busts of the christian era are presented on the first floor with the gallery of the gods. Since 1979, the Centre Culturel Occitan d'Albi has been organizing La Janada, the traditional St. John's Day festival celebrating the end of the harvest. The festive gathering takes place on Place Sainte-Cécile, and includes a farandole in the streets, a children's ball, a market, a concert... Then finally arrives the procession of Occitan schoolchildren with their torches to light the fire, around which the crowd dances to end the evening!

What is Total Festum? Total Festum is Occitanie's festival of Catalan and Occitan languages and cultures. Around the summer solstice and Sant Joan, music rubs shoulders with traditional dances, totemic animals mingle with shows, literature takes center stage and fire shows light up hearts. Between conviviality, sharing and discoveries, this event is an ode to tradition and memory, a resolutely forward-looking look and an anchoring in the present. A festival where the richness comes from the world and its diversity.

In the Gers region, Cologne holds its annual festival in August. The main festivities are spread over 4 days, with a gourmet market on Friday, serenades, pétanque competitions and a traditional meal on Saturday, and a large gathering of motorcycles and tractors on Sunday. In the evening, there's a hearty meal under the Halle, accompanied by a traditional hot-air balloon release and a dance with live music. On Monday, you can round off your festive weekend with a pétanque competition!

Organized by the Comité des fêtes de Mirepoix, the bandas festival and its travelling brass bands bring this pretty historic town to life in June. Percussions and bass drums echo through the streets, while young and old dance to the sound of trumpets. Throughout the evening, five bandas will parade around the cafés and the Place du Maréchal Leclerc, bringing joy and good humor to all. For one of the highlights of the summer, get together with family and friends to enjoy these festive musical events!

Transhumance, from the Latin "trans" (beyond) and "humus" (earth, country), is the summer migration of herds to richer, greener lands, such as the Pyrenean estives. Every year, a major pastoral festival is held here, where you too can accompany the herds of sheep, cows and horses through the mountain villages. Your journey will be littered with entertainment, traditional meals and folk shows. An unforgettable experience immersed in the traditions of the Ariège!

Toulouse is a major stop on the men's and women's 7-a-side rugby world circuit. The event sets the Ernest Wallon stadium alight every year, and fans from all over the world come to cheer on their country. Matches take place all day long over 3 days, and the Fan Zone offers everything spectators need to enjoy the event: refreshment stands, food trucks, slide belly, rugby activities, climbing, relaxation zone, bandas... A truly festive weekend!

On the^1st weekend of July, the Escota é Minja association ("listen and eat", in Occitan) has a motto: amortis la television, bèu un còp e bolèga-te! ("turn off the TV, have a drink and get moving!"). It's more than just a festival, it's an annual event that promotes Occitan culture, intergenerational links and the art of living, gastronomy and sustainable development. For two days, you can enjoy free concerts for young and old, as well as traditional and contemporary music in a festive and convivial atmosphere.

In the mountains of the Val d'Azun, the En Cadence association organizes this annual festival of traditional music and dance. Locals and lovers of Occitan culture come together for this event, for various music and dance workshops and courses, but above all for the ball! Over the course of several days, you'll sing, dance, enjoy exhibitions of lutherie and instrument making, a storytelling stroll, bowling demonstrations and a local producers' market. A total immersion in local culture!

When the colorful arenas of Cazaubon, in the Gers region, host the famous Landes races in summer, it's a day of celebration! The events are organized by Club Taurin Darrigada and take place over several afternoons and evenings, from July to October. These are always exceptional festive, musical and sporting occasions that delight locals and visitors alike. With a live announcer, spectators and bullfighters, we promise you a good time and, above all, a sensational show!

Every summer, the Trad'Estiu association organizes its festival of the same name. With the aim of promoting and perpetuating Occitan culture and traditions, the collective organizes events for young and old alike. For 4 days, the town of Foix comes alive with trad'apéros, free trad' balls with Occitan orchestras, wooden games, traditional dance shows... And to immerse yourself even further, you can also enjoy a play in Occitan with French subtitles, and a tour of Foix in Occitan!

La Nuit du Trad' brings together lovers of traditional dances for an evening featuring 4 bands. Dance and music workshops are organized in the afternoon, on-site catering with local produce is provided, and at 7pm the Grand Bal Trad' opens! Whether you're a dancer, a music lover or an epicurean, the Biroussans invite you to enjoy a festive and convivial evening! And if you're a late-night musician, bring your instruments for an all-night musical jam session!
