Tourgounboï warmly welcomes visitors in the flowered courtyard and trees of its vast traditional house, where silk strips decorate the terraces.

Two hundred people work in these workshops for a production of more than 200 000 m of silk per year. You can follow the entire process of manufacture, from the sorting of the cocoons to the final weave, through the drawing of ikats and dyeing. Colours are made from trees and plants that grow in the courtyard. Some silk carpets are also produced in a separate workshop.

Shorofidin comes from one of the oldest craftsmen's families of Rishtan, whose sixth generation he represents. Today he transmits his savoiir to his grandson. During the workshop visit you can watch a 10-minute film filmed by Russian director Malik Kayumov in 1985. The star was then the father of Shorofidin.
