The dishes are of good quality and typically American (fried chicken, sandwiches, burgers, salads, etc.), with some Mexican specialities too. An address not to be neglected before going further into the desert areas surrounding Needles.

We like this address for its pretty patio and its location, a 10-minute walk from Venice Beach, but the chain is also established in the small Larchmont district.

The general opinion of the Angelenos (and ours as well) is that Thai Town's Thai restaurants are frankly mediocre. That's probably why Night + Market Song, this small ultra trendy restaurant located on Sunset Boulevard run by Kris Yenbamroong, is a real hit. This young film graduate chef has no culinary training other than growing up in a family of Thai restaurateurs in L.A. The whimsical, colourful and trendy decoration is the ideal setting to uncork a Thai beer before an evening in the neighbourhood's bars! Surprisingly cheap, Night + Market Song offers an authentic cuisine, with sharp and fresh flavours. Try coconut rice, a sticky rice cooked in coconut milk, and, at lunch, Thai Boxing Chicken, a barbecue chicken traditionally served around Bangkok's boxing rings by street vendors.

Probably the best pastrami on rye in Southern California can be found here. Langer's is so popular with Angelenos that the intersection of 7th Street and Alvarado Street is nicknamed Langer's Square; a godsend that a subway stop is right in front of the restaurant, making it accessible by public transport. A fabulous mix of customers - young and old, rich and poor - adds to the friendly atmosphere.

This little restaurant in Little Tokyo transports visitors to Japan. We take a seat at the counter, facing theitamae - the chef who prepares the sushi - who works before our very eyes. We love the authentic, hushed ambience, the ban on cell phones and, above all, the exceptional quality of the sushi. While everything is delicious, we recommend you try the miso soup and tuna toro, which are hard to find in Japanese restaurants in France. A great address! Be prepared to wait a little at the entrance.

In the Venetian's St. Mark's Square, near the canals of a Venice you won't soon forget, this elegant Italian restaurant serves a wide selection of antipasti (sardines, octopus, truffle burrata, bruschetta), pizzas, risottos and pastas, including a good recipe with prawns and garlic. A pleasant place with a large terrace overlooking the square, a 5-meter high ceiling and a kitchen visible from the room. For more intimacy, the restaurant also offers booths for seclusion.
