A little away from the Dordogne valley and east of Sarlat, the town of Carlux is dominated by an imposing medieval castle which guarded the western border of the Viscounty of Turenne. Its fortified silhouette with its high ramparts and the remains of its towers can be seen at every turn. Donated to the commune in 1990, its rehabilitation began two years later. The view from the high terrace is breathtaking. Free visit on the opening days of the town hall. The small village of Carlux, built around the castle, has preserved its authenticity. You can see one of the most beautiful Saracen chimneys of the Périgord!
