This typically Berrichon village is famous for its activity around pottery since the seventeenth century. Here, we were making the scam ears, always present on roofs. Today, the village has many artisans producing commercial pottery. These artisans offer activities to the public all year round, making this small village very lively. Two hills oppose the Châtelet. On one was once implanted a castle around which the city has developed, which retains very beautiful houses of the seventeenth and eighteenth century. There is hardly anything left of the castle. On the other hill was built the abbey of Puyferrand, in the xiith century. This foundation of the order of Saint Augustin - rare order in Berry - is very representative of the Romanesque architecture Berrichian. The facade appears as a reduced image of that of the nearby church Saint-Genès de Châteaumeillant. The village of Archers is a unique architecture in the potter village. Many roofs are adorned with the soothing ears, and in several houses the distribution in the room - living room - is found, a pot - the workshop - and dryer upstairs - access by an external stairs, stone, characteristic.
