Brinon-sur-Sauldre is located 11 kilometers southwest of Aubigny-sur-Nère. The village is located in Sologne, a few kilometers east of Lamotte-Beuvron and about twenty kilometers southwest of Sully-sur-Loire. It is located on the great Sauldre and a little south of the Sauldre Canal. The landscape is essentially forest. It's a hunters land. There is a church of the xiiith century, surrounded by a caquetor, the castle of Brinon-sur-Sauldre and walking along the Sauldre Canal. The lace has been refurbished, the place is popular with fishermen and badgers. Brinon-sur-Sauldre was popularized by Maurice Genevoix's novel, Raboliot. Recently, hiking trails have been developed. The Raboliot circuit is indicated on signs in the village.
