BERRY MUSEUM
Built around 1515, Cujas Hotel, a historic monument classified, has been home to the Berry Museum since 1892. There are important archeological collections, protohistoric, Egyptian and especially Gallo-Roman. A lapidary room consists of more than 250 stalls. The Sainte Chapelle of Bourges, destroyed in the seventeenth century, is presented through statues of prophets and, above all, ten mourners of marble and algae from the tomb of Duke Jean de Berry. On the first floor, two rooms were moved: daily life in the Berrichonnes countryside of the last century and the works of the Talbot family. In their place, you will discover an exhibition entitled «Unveiled Works», with paints patiently restored by Jean Boucher, Fragonard and Nicolas Tournier.
