10 km from Aubigny on the D 940 and 20 km from Gien.City stage of the road Jacques Cœur. Take advantage of your trip to Silver-sur-Sauldre to make a stop in the park adjacent to the castle, whose alleys follow the Sauldre course. The Sauldre lateral canal was excavated in the nineteenth century. This "no tail or head" channel of 46 km is not connected to any watercourse. It was built and put into service in the 1870 s to clean up and fertilize Sologne. Very quickly deprived of navigation - as early as 1925 - the canal found a forgotten youth thanks to major dissenses. Its seasoned and managed banks are now available to hikers who will ensure that they do not disturb the placid expectations of fishermen. Fishing and hunting are also honored in the many restaurants in the commune that will delight the gastronomes. To note for hiking enthusiasts: it is possible to make a seven-hour loop on the edge of the canal and in the marshes. Several wooden tables are scattered at many places in the site to make a break or recover. The Well Pond, the largest pond in Sologne, is located in this municipality. It also extends to those of Clémont and Cerdon. Silver-sur-Sauldre is crossed by the Grande Sauldre, river taking source at Humbligny level. The Oizenotte flows into the Grande Sauldre on the commune of Silver-sur-Sauldre. The clay basement allowed the ceramic activity to develop in the eighteenth century. A brick and tuilery were created. Gien's fatherhood was created from the land from Silver-sur-Sauldre. In 1847, Renault began manufacturing pottery pieces. Today, it continues to produce very beautiful pieces. In the early twentieth century, various economic activities took place. They still exist today: exploitation of limestone and flint quarries, clothing, furniture manufacturing, wood sawing. On the other hand, some companies have disappeared, including dairies, a shoe factory. There is still a company in the paper industry: Paragon Identification, a company recognized in French printing.Money-on-Sauldre's economic boom is mainly due to its geographical location and the different channels of communication that existed: the railway of Blanc-Silver, the Sauldre Canal. The Château de Saint-Maur, built around 1776-78 by architect Victor Louis, classified as a historic monument since 2002, the church Saint-André, built in the xiiith century and enlarged in the fifteenth century, restored in 1892 by Octave Guérin, listed as historical monument 944. Finally the Well Pond is ideal for relaxation and walks.
