Cléguer is a commune linked to the river Scorff, not only because it flows through it, but also because in the past, trade was based on the river. Potatoes were grown in large quantities, beer was brewed, timber was harvested and all these goods were transported by water. These were very "noble" activities, the logical consequence of a Roman past and a very dense seigneurial territory. Remains of these eras dot the countryside. Today, you can still take advantage of the Roman roads for hiking, the Scorff for water sports and the monuments for history: churches, chapels, the Roman bridge...
