Founded by monks from overseas to the life of the century, this small commune has more than 900 inhabitants (on January 1, 2016, we count in Bangor 984 inhabitants). Bangor is the inner island of the island. Its white and low houses bloom around Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul church which replaced an ancient Romanesque chapel. It also has the most wild territory on the island and the most exposed to southwest winds. The beautiful beaches of Herlin, Kérel or Donner find refuge on the rocky coast. After seeing its population shrinking because of the slowdown in agricultural activity, Bangor reversed the trend through tourism development.
