Named after its founder, the monk Saint Méwen, the commune is located in the heart of the Brocéliande region. It boasts an 11th-century Romanesque abbey and 14th-century frescoes. Listed as a historic monument, it is one of the oldest communes in Ille-et-Vilaine. The abbey church houses the relics of Saint Méen. The commune is also renowned for its cycling itineraries, which take you closer to the legends of Brocéliande. Nicknamed the "City of Cycling", it was the birthplace of three-time Tour de France winner Louison Bobet, painted on the water tower. An interactive family museum is dedicated to him.
