Located inland, Saint-Méloir-des-Ondes is a small and increasingly touristy village of about 4,000 inhabitants, which is quite typical. The region of Saint-Méloir-des-Ondes and La Gouesnière produces a wide variety of vegetables and market garden products: cauliflowers, potatoes, broccoli, artichokes... A market at the "Cadran" (clock) has been set up there, through which 80% of the vegetable production of the Emerald Coast passes. Saint-Méloir is rich in heritage and has many chapels, manors, malouinières, crosses (La Jeannais and l'Essart) and mills that dot its landscape.
