Between land and sea, this charming little town, very popular with tourists, offers 4 fine sandy beaches bordered by sand dunes and framed by beautiful rocky points. Its countryside is dotted here and there with malouinières and other gentilhommières built by rich Malouin shipowners from the 16th to the 18th century. Its heritage and its exceptional landscapes have often been the scene of film productions such as La Cérémonie by Claude Chabrol or the television series Entre Terre et Mer by Hervé Baslé, a native of the region. The singer Léo Ferré and the writer Colette lived there for years.
