The name of this village comes from the Latin Baenus or Balnus which means "bath". It is indeed endowed with a natural pond of 35 ha, whose banks are labelled Eco-garden. It is possible to practice several nautical activities such as windsurfing. You will also discover historical monuments such as the windmill of Pomméniac, whose construction dates back to 1837, and the castle of la Robinais (XVth-XVIIIth centuries). Walking and mountain biking enthusiasts will have a great time on the greenway that follows the route of the old railroad linking Châteaubriant to Ploermël. The market is held there every Monday since 1286.
