GENS DE LA LUNE

Astronomy

This association of astronomical observation was launched under the will of Mr Le Hir. You will be able to discover and observe the universe. A room is made available to the members of the association with observation equipment, when they wish to go there... But especially when the weather allows it! It is probably for this reason (the climatic hazards linked to this hobby) that the association's site is in fact a panel of weather observations updated every 5 minutes to know if the conditions are favourable or not for the observation of stars, planets and other galaxies! Rendezvous is given at the observatory in Brest. To your glasses!

COMITÉ SPÉLÉOLOGIQUE DÉPARTEMENTAL DU FINISTÈRE

Caving

Plougastel-Daoulas, in the Finistère department, is home to the Comité Spéléologique Départemental. This committee represents the Fédération Française de Spéléologie in the region, and is made up of members and clubs affiliated to the federation. Its main missions are to promote caving in the department, manage and protect caves, and help cavers with training and safety. Finistère currently has just one club, Gaspar in Plougastel-Daoulas. However, the committee hopes to generate sufficient interest to set up a second club, particularly in the south of the department where there are some interesting caves, such as Cap Sizun and the Cozon peninsula. Every year, the committee takes part in the Journées Nationales de la Spéléologie et du Canyon, organizing local events for the general public, such as exhibitions, film screenings and introductory courses.
