At the very tip of Cap Sizun, the commune stretches from the Loc'h beach to the famous Pointe du Raz. A land of temperament, character and quasi-original energy, its small harbours are topped by impressive, jagged cliffs. Sea spray is everywhere, and the scent of seaweed predominates, combining with that of heather and gorse. Plogoff was in the headlines for 6 years, from 1975 to 1981, when the entire population mobilized against the construction of an atomic power plant. A symbol of popular resistance, the commune made national and international headlines, until the project was abandoned.
