First French fishing port, Le Guilvinec is a must for seaside tourism. This port was born more than a century ago, carried by a small colony of fishermen. Today, with a fleet of about one hundred boats, including about fifty deep-sea boats, it is identified as the "heart of French fishing". In this sense, the town is developing an important port and tourist activity: Haliotika, the fishing city, shipyards, marine forges, canneries, fish markets, fish ponds... These activities make it a very lively city. In summer and winter, the Tuesday and Sunday markets are events not to be missed.
