Le Faou is a pretty village dating back to the 11th century. Most shops face the main street. Its architectural heritage is very interesting: several corbelled houses can be seen throughout the commune. Le Faou has made the most of its geographical location. As the gateway to the Crozon peninsula, it is equidistant from Brest and Quimper. Although the area boasts many hectares of farmland, the commune has also benefited from the exploitation of the forest for shipbuilding. Don't be fooled: bathed by the Brest roadstead and the Aulne river, it abounds in bodies of water and natural sites.
