Cinémathèque Brest

Since 1986, the Cinémathèque de Bretagne has undertaken a public service mission: the conservation and diffusion of Breton audiovisual heritage. More than 25 000 films, videos and sound tapes filed by more than 1 500 applicants are retained. 300 m ² is entirely dedicated to the archives which, after restoration, find an ideal environment at the temperature and humidity controlled. The cinémathèque offers services such as on-site research, archives consultation, free access to paper documentation or research assistance. Thus, future generations will have the opportunity to discover this audiovisual wealth, a true memory of Breton heritage. Note that the cinémathèque also offers meetings around unknown movies or cult, at Mac-Orlan, sometimes in the presence of directors.
