Located 23 kilometres from Colmar, the small village of Vogelgrun - with a population of 639 - is best known for hosting the Rhine Island. This small green paradise is wedged between the arms of the Rhine and the Grand Canal d'Alsace. A classified nature reserve, it is possible to practise numerous sports and leisure activities. If you are lucky or patient, you may see a kingfisher or a rare orchid. But also mallards, scaups, gadwall and egrets. More than 60,000 waterfowl are present during the wintering season. A lot of beautiful discoveries in prospect.
