Built on the heights, this village has never had the maritime sense as developed as the other villages of Rance. However, one of its hamlets is of strategic importance: La Hisse. On the territory of this hamlet was built the lock known as the Chatelier lock, located in a constriction of the river. It has thus become, with the dam that extends it, the border between fresh water and sea water. It is an obligatory passage for boats coming from the river to the sea, and in summer it is the scene of intense activity. At the beginning of September, the Cider Route sees a number of old and modern riggings passing by.
