Saint-Jouan de l'Isle is located east of the department of Côtes d'Armor, at the intersection of 2 main axes: the Rennes-Saint-Brieuc axis (RN 12) and the Dinan-Vannes axis (D 766). Its territory is limited to the east and south by the department of Ille and Vilaine. The town hall in the right wing of a former manor house called the "old castle", the Saint John Baptiste Church, renovated in 1897 and composed of a nave and a transept. Inside, it houses several movable objects classified historic monuments.
