The Roman route driving from Carhaix to Coralone crossed Saint-Alban, which owes its name to the first island martyr of Verulamium, which became Saint-Alban (50 km from London), condemned and executed on June 22, 209. The cult of Saint Alban spread very quickly in England and then in France. Saint-Alban, rural Bourg and holiday resort, is now the crossroads of the country of Lamballe and the gateway to Erquy and Fortuneuf-Val-André. Intimately linked to the history of the duchy of Penthièvre, the municipality preserved its authenticity with its typical village of Saint-Brieuc Bay. Traditional festivals are regularly organized. The Celtic Circle "Flower of Alder" perpetuates the traditions of dance, singing and music. Its classy buildings and built heritage inspired artists, painters and sculptors. The newly restored church is remarkable in many respects (glass, furniture). Saint Guillaume (Guillaume Pinchon) bishop of Saint-Brieuc from 1220 to 1234 was born - according to legend - in Fleur d 'Aulne, parish of Saint-Alban. A chapel is dedicated to him.
