It's the capital of Fisel country, named after the local traditional dance. This lively little town is well worth a stop, or even an extended stop to explore the surrounding area. Kreiz Breizh is a land with an Irish flavour in the heart of Brittany, where traditions live on and the atmosphere is magical. This bocage area of valleys, moors, chaos and forests offers lovely walks, in the heart of natural sites of beauty tinged with mystery, such as the moors of Locarn and Lan Bern, kingdoms of heather and gorse, or the gorges of Corong and Toul Goulic, with their granite chaos. The Nantes-Brest canal offers several points of interest: at Glomel, the lock ladder can be descended by canoe-raft. Nearby, the famous Tranchée des bagnards forms the highest point of the canal, linking the Aulne to the Blavet. This 3 km-long trench was dug in the 19th century by deserters from Louis XVIII's army, in appalling conditions that cost many of them their lives. In terms of built heritage, the Kergrist-Moëlou parish enclosure is well worth a visit, with its calvary, ossuary and multi-century yew trees.
