This commune of the Gorse Coast fascinates by its beauty, sometimes wild, sometimes idyllic. Its rocky coastline studded with islets changes its face with the tides, disturbing the boundaries between land and sea. It also conceals beautiful white sandy beaches and small picturesque ports, such as Buguélès or Port-Blanc, a coastal village where the folklorist Anatole le Braz lived. Hidden a little higher up, don't miss the Notre-Dame chapel, half-buried. At the end of May-early June, Penvénan is the scene of an astonishing pardon to the horses, during which the procession goes on foot (and on legs) to Saint-Gildas Island, accessible at low tide.
