The Birlot tide mill is located on the Kerpont channel, to the west of the island.
Considered one of the most beautiful in Brittany, the Birlot tidal mill is located on the Kerpont channel, to the west of the island. A 140-metre dike cuts through a cove to form a 2-hectare water reserve, which feeds the mill. Built between 1633 and 1638 and owned by the Seigneur de Bréhat, it was shut down around 1920 and restored in the 1990s. Since 1994, an association has been responsible for its restoration and seasonal operation. Thanks to the efforts of volunteers, the mechanism has been rebuilt and the mill has been producing buckwheat flour again since July 2022!
