The Hillion Peninsula juts out into the heart of the Saint-Brieuc Bay Nature Reserve. Every winter, these 1,140 hectares of protected land are the refuge of some 20,000 migratory birds from Scandinavia and Siberia: Brent geese, oystercatchers, sandpipers... At the bottom of this bay, with one of the highest tidal ranges in the world, the sea can retreat for more than 7 km, discovering vast foreshores, an atypical landscape that can be admired from the coastal path and a larder for birds. The Bay of Saint-Brieuc is a major mussel culture site, accounting for 10% of the national production of bouchot mussels.
