Capital of the Gallo-Roman city of Coriosolites, Corseul is the oldest city in the Côtes-d'Armor region. It was abandoned in the Late Empire in favor of Alet, and then fell into a long period of lethargy. The results of excavations begun in the 19th century are on display in the archaeological museum. The stripped remains of the main temple, the Temple de Mars, are a must-see. Then climb the Haut-Bécherel hill to experience the atmosphere of the busy life of the ancient Gallo-Roman city (57 BC). The Coriosolis heritage interpretation center, opened in 2014, is well worth a visit.
