Situated on the border between Burgundy and Champagne, Saint-Florentin was built on terraces: the town overlooks the Armance, Armançon and Burgundy canals, and can be explored via the staircases that rise up to the town center, as well as the timber-framed alleyways, footbridges and bridges. A town also built around the tomb of Saint Florentin, a 3rd-century martyr. In this respect, the size of the church may come as a surprise.
