In 634, Annay-la-Côte belonged to the bishop of Auxerre, but archaeological research has shown a more ancient past. The town grew in size and acquired rights while the surrounding vineyards belonged to the Duke of Burgundy. Today, one should not hesitate to stop in the village to discover the church of Saint-Marcel or the two wash houses fed by a local spring.
