We're here in that part of the Mâconnais region known as the Haut Mâconnais. Lugny is the administrative center of a canton of 19 communes, with a population of almost 1,000 Lugnisois, surrounded by vineyards, hiking trails and the Saône River. It's hardly surprising that this picturesque region is so popular for its woodland walks. Geography has been generous with this part of Saône-et-Loire: the vines have taken root here, making the most of the sunshine and limestone soil.
