The town of Moncalieri, which today is a municipality with a population of over 55,000 inhabitants, is really at the gates of Turin, but the old town has retained the charm of the old Piedmontese villages. The site has more than two thousand years of history, but it is with the construction of the fortress, later converted into a residence, and then the river port and the bridge to Turin that the town gained importance. For a long time it was a fortified town. Climbing through the narrow streets, you reach the castle that stands on the top of the hill from where the view of the Alps, but also of the castle of Rivoli, is impressive
