Only an hour from Stockholm by boat, this tiny island is truly peaceful and offers all the comforts to those who want to relax and forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Acquired by the first director of the Nobel Foundation in 1906, who built an Art Nouveau style house on the island, it became the property of the city of Stockholm in 1944. It now belongs to the Archipelago Foundation. A beautiful beach of grass and sand welcomes you near the pier. Plan a 10-minute walk to reach the hotel, as well as something to eat, since the monopoly on the sale of sandwiches makes snacking prohibitively expensive.
