Hamlet located west of Saint-Christophe-sur-Dolaison, commune to which it is attached, Tallode extends on a volcanic and stony soil at 930 m altitude. Designated in the 14th century under the name of Talode, this hamlet is part of the architectural heritage of Saint-Christophe-sur-Dolaison with its old bread ovens whose roofs have been restored. Tallode is also linked to Claude de Bernard de Talode du Grail, a refractory priest who was guillotined in Puy-en-Velay in 1794 and Pierre-Marie-Charles de Bernard du Grail de La Villette, known as Charles de Bernard, a French novelist and short story writer of the 1840s.
