Stronsay is located east of Eday and is a 1.5 hour ferry ride from Kirkwall (Mainland). It is appreciated for its long beaches and beautiful bays, notably Bay of Holland, St Catherine's Bay, Mill Bay and Bay of Housebay. It is also here that we find the Vat of Kirbister, a huge rocky arch pierced in the cliffs, one of the most beautiful in Orkney. Lamb Ness & Lamb Head are the domain of birds. Archaeology and prehistory enthusiasts will want to explore the Burgh Head broch. Make a stop at the village of Whitehall. At the heart of the herring trade in the 1800s, it is now a quiet harbour village.
