At an altitude of over 2,000 m, it is encircled by peaks approaching 3,000 m, which has earned this deep mountain area the name of Olla de Núria, Núria's cauldron. The only way to get there is to take the little cogwheel train that leaves from Ribes de Freser and climbs over 1,000 m over a distance of 12 km. With chamois, marmots and golden eagles all on board. More experienced climbers can make the ascent on foot, provided they are well equipped. A place of pilgrimage, this valley is also a magnificent natural setting for a wide range of activities.
