Leaving Vitoria on the N-1 in the direction of Madrid, Iruña has an oppidum and a botanical garden. At Salinas de Añana, you will arrive in the Salt Valley, an abandoned salt mining area that creates an astonishing desert landscape, witnessing the work of salt in the last century. A salt fair is held here on the first Saturday of July. You can also visit the monastery of San Juan de Acre.
