Génelard, located on the banks of the Canal du Centre and the Bourbince, is marked by water. This makes it the perfect nature and heritage stop-off point for discovering the Canal du Centre and its history. The former port of Génelard has been converted into a river stopover, the starting point of an interpretation trail that recalls its construction in the late 18th century and its important role in the economic development of the Saône-et-Loire region. The river site also houses a lock-house-gîte with electric boat, and offers a cycle route along the canal. A peaceful, bucolic stopover for boaters and cycle tourists alike.
