When you enter the Valgrisenche from Arvier, the view is wild, unspoilt, wild, rising from the green fir trees to the glaciers of Mount Ruitor, the peaceful giant of La Thuile, which shows its sharp face here. There is hardly a trace of human habitation to be seen, apart from a few old stone houses perfectly hidden in the environment. Higher up, the valley is occupied by the artificial basin of Beauregard, the second largest dam in the Aosta Valley, which in turn gives way to the glacial cirque on the slopes of the Grande Sassière (3,751 m). An infinite number of hiking and mountaineering routes cover all the slopes of this magnificent coomb.Skiing. A small but complete ski resort offering 4 downhill runs (two black, one red and one blue) served by a chairlift, as well as a small snowpark for children. Valgrisenche is also home to a cross-country ski trail which passes just below the Beauregard dam
