Sanquhar is not very touristy... and yet! It has many attractions, including its location in the heart of the Dumfries, with its green nature and rich heritage, and halfway between Ayr and Dumfries. It has its own museum, Tolbooth Museum, which tells the story of the town, its land art project, the Crawick Multiverse, and a fun curiosity: the oldest post office in the world. Indeed, it would function without interruption since... 1712 ! You can also get close to the remains of the Sanquhar castle. The city has many small shops, restaurants and hotels, including some nuggets. It is the perfect place to stop.
